Dennis McNally covers this in more detail on pp 615-616 of Long Strange Trip. He gives a detailed list of who was on the boat (too many to type out), describes the bad treatment by Deborah Koons of Mountain Girl, and says that "All who so desired reached in and helped tip the bag over." Phil says at the end of his book that some of Jerry's remains blew back against the boat, Bob almost fell overboard while wiping them up in a handkerchief, and his wife (Phil's wife, Jill) later buried this. Phil and Bobby also took a small amount of ashes to India and poured them into the Ganges River.

Was the tide going out toward Pt Bonita or back in toward Pt Diablo?

Everytime I scroll past this I have an image of something Mafia-esque having happened to either of OUR Ashes (Rising or Light)...
